Mint Chocolate Truffles
…you only need 5 ingredients to create this showstopping dessert
Truffles are a confectionary that people think you have to spend hours and hours on, when in reality it only takes a few ingredients and a little patience to not dig in immediately!
Equipment
Mixing bowl
Whisk
Measuring cups
Pot
For the truffles
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp mint extract
2 cups chocolate chips
Cacao powder or powdered sugar for dusting
Beyond rich and decadent and SO easy to make!
First, add one cup of heavy whipping cream to a pot and heat until the cream is just about to simmer.
In a separate bowl, measure out two cups of chocolate chips (I prefer dark chocolate, but you can use whatever you like or have on hand).
While the cream is still hot, pour over the chocolate chips and let stand for about 5 to let the chocolate and cream really meld together.
Slowly mix together your chocolate and cream essentially making a chocolate ganache.
Next, add any flavorings you like (mint, espresso, hazelnut), but don’t skip on the vanilla - that makes the chocolate really pop
Mix until well combined and the ingredients become shiny and no longer liquidy
Cover and place in the fridge for at least 12 hours
Next, use a melon baller or a teaspoon to roll out individual balls.
Roll balls in powdered sugar or cacao powder
Please note that these tend to lose their powdery-ness pretty quickly due to the moisture, so prior to serving dust once again
Store in the fridge until ready to enjoy
These will keep for about 3 days
