Mint Chocolate Truffles

…you only need 5 ingredients to create this showstopping dessert

Truffles are a confectionary that people think you have to spend hours and hours on, when in reality it only takes a few ingredients and a little patience to not dig in immediately!

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl

  • Whisk

  • Measuring cups

  • Pot

For the truffles

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1/2 tsp mint extract

  • 2 cups chocolate chips

  • Cacao powder or powdered sugar for dusting

Beyond rich and decadent and SO easy to make!

  • First, add one cup of heavy whipping cream to a pot and heat until the cream is just about to simmer.

  • In a separate bowl, measure out two cups of chocolate chips (I prefer dark chocolate, but you can use whatever you like or have on hand).

  • While the cream is still hot, pour over the chocolate chips and let stand for about 5 to let the chocolate and cream really meld together.

  • Slowly mix together your chocolate and cream essentially making a chocolate ganache.

  • Next, add any flavorings you like (mint, espresso, hazelnut), but don’t skip on the vanilla - that makes the chocolate really pop

  • Mix until well combined and the ingredients become shiny and no longer liquidy

  • Cover and place in the fridge for at least 12 hours

  • Next, use a melon baller or a teaspoon to roll out individual balls.

  • Roll balls in powdered sugar or cacao powder

  • Please note that these tend to lose their powdery-ness pretty quickly due to the moisture, so prior to serving dust once again

  • Store in the fridge until ready to enjoy

  • These will keep for about 3 days
