Chocolate Chip Cookies
…elevate your homemade cookies with this delicious recipe
There’s something about brown butter that makes everything taste a million times better!
Equipment
Mixing bowl
Whisk
Measuring cups
Pot
For the cookie dough
2 sticks salted butter
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/2 cup white sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 tablespoon vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
2 and 1/2 cups of flour
1 cup chocolate chips
Chewy and sweet with almost a nutty flavor
First, add two sicks of butter to a pot and melt on medium low until your butter turns a beautiful amber brown color. Be sure to constantly stir your butter as you don’t want it to burn. This can take up to 10 minutes for your butter to turn into this state. It will go from a pale yellow clarified butter to a rich dark brown. Remove from heat immediately so that the butter does not burn.
Next, you can start adding your other ingredients to the dough. Starting with your dark brown sugar (packed) and white sugar. Add in your large eggs and mix to combine.
Add in your vanilla baking soda and mix again.
After your butter has been cooling for a while, slowly add it in to your mixture and then add your flour.
I like to mix all the wet ingredients together and then slowly add in the dry so that everything is well combined.
Next, add in your chocolate chips - and you can really add in as many as you like. I typically do a cups worth, but you can always add more.
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and pop in the over at 350F for 8-12 minutes.
I like mine on the chewier under-done side so I typically pull them at 8 minutes and allow them to bake for a few more in the pan
Enjoy!
