Italian Hot Chocolate
…the richest, creamiest and thickest hot chocolate around!
YALL I literally cannot get over how good this hot chocolate is! It almost has a pudding like consistency and can be transformed to have a peppermint-y, mint, orange or raspberry flavor.
Equipment
Sauce Pan
Whisk
Measuring cups
For the creamiest hot chocolate
1/2 cup chocolate chips (I use semi-sweet), but you can use whatever you have on hand
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 tablespoons of cacao powder (the darker the better)
1 cup of milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 tablespoons of cornstarch (need to make into a slurry)
To your sauce pan, add in your milk, sugar, coco powder, vanilla and chocolate chips
Gently stir
Heat on low until chocolate chips are fully combined and melted in to the mixture
Next, add in your cornstarch slurry to the mixture (a corn starch slurry consists of cold water and your cornstarch mixed together until the cornstarch has been fully incorporated).
Continue to stir with the heat on low until your hot chocolate becomes thick
Pour in to your favorite mug or glass and add marshmallows if you like
