Italian Hot Chocolate

…the richest, creamiest and thickest hot chocolate around!

YALL I literally cannot get over how good this hot chocolate is! It almost has a pudding like consistency and can be transformed to have a peppermint-y, mint, orange or raspberry flavor.

Equipment

  • Sauce Pan

  • Whisk

  • Measuring cups

For the creamiest hot chocolate

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (I use semi-sweet), but you can use whatever you have on hand

  • 2 tablespoons of sugar

  • 2 tablespoons of cacao powder (the darker the better)

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch (need to make into a slurry)

  • To your sauce pan, add in your milk, sugar, coco powder, vanilla and chocolate chips

  • Gently stir

  • Heat on low until chocolate chips are fully combined and melted in to the mixture

  • Next, add in your cornstarch slurry to the mixture (a corn starch slurry consists of cold water and your cornstarch mixed together until the cornstarch has been fully incorporated).

  • Continue to stir with the heat on low until your hot chocolate becomes thick

  • Pour in to your favorite mug or glass and add marshmallows if you like

  • Enjoy!
